An Aspiring Interior Designer 👀

Growing up my favourite subjects were always: Arts & Craft, Maths, and Music. I ended up choosing to read Maths at uni but never gave up on the other two as hobbies - as my readers would have seen on this blog. Well it is never too late to learn a new skill - and maybe, one day, you can also be a student at the Chelsea College of Art! I attended the 15-hour short course on "Renovate and Decorate" alongside 7 other new friends in the cohort, each with a unique and interesting home/developer project that they are working on.

This course covered a wide spectrum of design techniques and industry best practice including planning permissions, design process, colours, lighting, working with architects and trades, furniture & finishing and more. More importantly, I learned that good design goes beyond aesthetics - it's about enabling people to use a space efficiently, effectively, and effortlessly. And it takes actual life experience to bring textbook knowledge to life. Check out the curriculum here!
